turing test
Test developed by Alan Turing, which attempts to determine whether a machine can imitate human behaviour. The test is set up as an imitation game in which a human being has a conversation with two interlocutors, one of whom is a human being and the other a machine. The assessor must try to determine which of the two is the machine. If the assessor fails to distinguish the human being from the machine, the machine has passed the Turing test.
